Paintball is a team sport, the more players involved, the greater the challenge.

One way to look at this is simply the number of targets that you now confront…..

For small groups like 5-a-side (10 players)  there are 25 different combinations of who could be shooting at who (that is assuming that you're not shooting at your own side which actually happens quite a bit).

With larger groups like 10-a-side (20 players)  there are 100 different combinations!  It’s not just the targeting that gets harder, it’s also the team dynamic. because there are more pieces of the puzzle to put together.   Team communication breaks down as players are lost (both tagged out or pinned-down / ineffectual). The fog of war creeps in and even the sharpest players don't know the big picture (tunnel vision).

Now, despite the game being harder its far more exciting!  if you know where your opponents are and your team is in control it’s like a walk in the park.  But maybe you’re pinned down with multiple opponents making moves against you as your cover is compromised. A team mate barks at you to move and provides cover-fire. You leap out into the unknown and  find the adrenaline is charging through your veins.

Fear or excitement are the same emotion - it just differs in how you are dealing with the situation.
